Weddings and everything leading up to the Day can be very crazy. This is why you need to make sure, everything is perfect to relieve some of the stress. If you have the makeup you can rely on, that is one less thing to worry about. You will be sure everything is in place and you will look fresh and stunning throughout the day. So, here you are some useful wedding makeup tips.
Once you get engaged
If you want to prepare for the day, you will have to start early as certain processes take time. There is nothing to stress about, but if you haven’t done it so far, you need to start caring for your skin properly. “The best foundation for good makeup is healthy skin.” This has to be your mantra and the first of my wedding makeup tips. Find formulas which suite your skin type. Use cleanser every day to keep the pores clean of oil and dirt.
Twice a week, use an exfoliator of your choice and your face will always look fresh. With no dead skin, makeup will firmly settle on your face and last longer. Finally, don’t forget to use oil-free moisturizer cream. Choosing a moisturizer with an SPF will protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun. Too much sun could bring out spots and freckles and emphasize wrinkles.
Prep and Prime (wedding makeup tips)
On the day, before you start applying the makeup, you need to prep your skin to ensure the lasting effect. Start by applying the moisturizer. Wait for it to fully absorb and apply the primer. Just like any other skin product you are using, you need to get the primer which flatters your skin. There are primers for oily skin, color-correcting primers, and anti-aging primers which are silicon-based. The silicon is designed to make your skin look luscious and fill and cover imperfections. Alternatively, you can go for a mineral primer which is generally a more natural option.
The primer is applied from the center of the face and spread toward the cheeks, upon the forehead and down to the chin. You only need a bit of it on each finger and you will be able to cover the entire face. Use an eye primer for your lids. Apart from the neutral kind, they can also be toned and have a shimmer of their own. Use lip primer for your lips. The primers are used to cover imperfections and prolong the life of your makeup.
Even the subtlest of makeup looks can be stunning with gorgeous lashes. Those who have been gifted with long, thick, and curled-up eyelashes, usually only opt for a coat of mascara. As this is your special day, add some naturally-looking dept with fake eyelashes. You will not regret it. If you think your lashes are voluminous enough, apply mink lashes of your lids, you will feel like a Persian princess.
Alternatively, you can opt for a long-lasting solution of doing lash extensions which are a new trend and for a good reason. At the very end of the process of applying makeup, you should apply mascara and go through your lashes with a metal comb to get rid of the excess mascara and prevent the smudges.
The foundation (wedding makeup tips)
Among these wedding makeup tips, your foundation should be your exact skin color. This way you will achieve the most natural look you can get, instead of looking like you are wearing a mask. Start by applying the color correction. Yes, that’s the green, blue, and orange stuff. Once you are done, you should proceed to apply the foundation. The last step is applying concealer to cover up the dark circles around your eyes, which can be quite an issue in the days leading up to the wedding.
Eyes and lips
Now that everything is perfectly primed, you need to start adding color. Brides traditionally want to emphasize their natural beauty and thus opt for a fresh look. You can achieve this with neutral and pastel colors. Sometimes just a bit of shimmer on your lids, when the primer is right, does the perfect job. If you are planning on using gel eyeliner, once you apply it, you should seal it with powder shade, so it does not melt away. Pale makeup tends not to show in photographs, but the liner and the lashes will outline your eyes nicely.
Furthermore, it seems that brides tend to choose nudes for their lips, so these are the most common lip colors for weddings. Our suggestion is using lip stain rather than lip gloss or lipstick as it doesn’t wear off as quickly and it is not sticky.
Seal your makeup
Now that everything is done, you need to make one more step to ensure that everything stays in place. Start by applying the setting powder to prevent creasing and make your skin look matte. Once that is done, apply bronzer, blush, and luminizer, they will bring the glow back. As a final step, spray your face with a setting spray to lock in your makeup. Make sure you close your eyes and keep it about 6-8 inches away from your face, too close could ruin the makeup, too far could end up not landing on your face.
And there you have it, your perfect long-lasting look for your perfect day!
